how to: a sweet lingerie party cake

So, on Sunday, I hosted a lingerie party for a dear friend of mine who is getting married this summer. (I'm in the wedding!) Inspired by this cake, I just had to make my own little lingerie cake. (and sometimes, I just like to make fun cakes!) Here's how ~ just in case you ever need to make one!
Start with a rectangular cake (mine was delightfully chocolate) and 2 muffin heads. If you do not have a super cool muffin head/top pan (like this one) you can just bake 2 cupcakes and cut the tops off.

Then it's time to cut the shape of the bustier.

See, this is why you need the muffin heads!
Time for icing. I'm lucky enough to have a very talented friend who makes delicious homemade buttercream! We dyed it a light pink. This little bowl was so cute - he has icing for hair!
We spread icing over the cake and decorated it with black and white icing to create an outline.Ta-Dah!The beautiful bride-to-be with her cake.Yum - o! Happy baking :)
