photo tour: Rainbow Falls

Over Memorial Day John and I went to Jones Gap State Park which is a beautiful place in SC surrounded by awesome hiking trails and waterfalls. We visited 2 different falls and this one was called Rainbow Falls. It was stunning. The hike in was about a 1.5 miles but we gained 1,000 feet as we hiked up, up, up. Here are some pictures of our hike if you are interested, although honestly a picture does not do this place justice - it was beautiful!
We hiked along side the Saluda River which rushed over huge rocks.
We crossed some really cool bridges.
We even saw some smaller waterfalls on the way to Rainbow Falls.
There were so many grand daddy long legs! We saw them everywhere!
The views were incredible, especially once we were really high up.

One last climb before we see the waterfall!
Presenting: Rainbow Falls
It was huge. See John standing next to it ;)
We were amazed by the falls. It was so loud there and the mist would hit your face with the wind. I could've stayed there all day. And we did stay there a while - the hike was tiring ;) Thanks for letting me share with you. A photo tour of Jones Gap Falls is next.
