open shelving
How do you feel about open shelving? I think if it's done right, it can be beautiful. Like here in this lovely Cape Cod home that I spotted on Bright, Bold, and Beautiful. I have some open shelving in my bathroom and I'm trying to figure out how to make it work ... maybe baskets?

a {moving} story
So I moved into my new apartment this weekend ~ YAY! It was a very {HOT!} happy weekend! And I am truly grateful for my fabulous moving crew - aka family and friends - that helped us carry heavy things in the upper 90 degree weather.
Here I am with Lindsay ... she's carrying all of the essentials ;)
So on Sunday night, I'm sitting outside looking up at the sky and you wouldn't believe it but I saw a shooting star! I know for sure that has to be a good sign :) And of course, I made a wish.
This week is full of unpacking and organizing. Moving is nice because I feel like I can start over with my organization. Am I the only one who color coordinates the closet?

go for the bold
Since I am moving this weekend and I will have blank white walls to work with I'm really admiring bold paint colors. Maybe not an entire room, but at least one wall. Don't you love this teal? hmmm ... definitely something to think about ...
a frame full of possibilities
So I have this frame - it's a wooden picture frame, currently brown, and it is rectangular. It's probably about 2 feet wide. It has no glass or backing or anything ... it's simply just the frame. And I've been trying to figure out what to put inside of it. Here are some thoughts and pictures that are inspiring me...
maybe a collage?
maybe a collage?
or a place to display my jewelry?
photo via here.
or to display my pictures? this is a cool little idea...
Or I may just paint it and frame a piece of this beautiful wrapping paper that I have. I seriously bought it thinking I might frame it - it is just this lovely little floral print! What do you think? What would you do?
I'm moving tomorrow! I've been packing, packing, packing all week long. Can't wait to share pictures of my new place once it's decorated and fun :)
Happy Friday!

totes the best hun cal fro yo
(first off, yay for sharing you tube videos on the blog ... how did I not know how to do this before? I'll be sharing more videos from now on! man, I could've been sharing waterfall videos and funny things this whole time ... duhh!)
Have you ever seen this video by the NYC Sketch Comedy group called the Harvard Sailing Team? It's hilarious! And today I went to Goodberry's (in North Carolina, we don't have Pinkberry) and it made me think of these guys' response to one of their friends when he admits he doesn't know what Pinkberry is. I wonder if Goodberry's is anything like Pinkberry? It sure is delicious ~ I know that much.

What do you think? Have you ever had pinkberry before? Of course, Goodberry's isn't even frozen yogurt, it's frozen custard so they might not compare.
(In case you are wondering, frozen custard is like ice cream but is made with eggs in addition to cream and sugar. It's fantastic.)
And at Goodberry's, they serve concretes which they are known for holding upside down before they give it to you. Here's the wiki details about frozen custard. Now we know...
Oh yea, and check out the video - I guarantee you'll laugh!

old school photo challooonngggeee!
And when I say old school, I mean the oldest picture of John and I that exists (and it was taken at school). Oh yeaaa... look at John's hair! No wonder I like him so much ;)
So I have been inspired by Emma and Lauren (2 super fun bloggers, that are both new to me actually. nice to meet you!) to participate in the old school photo challenge. This picture was the very first photo every taken of John and I together. We were lowly sophomores in the dining hall at North Carolina State University and we had just 'officially' started dating! It's so fun to walk down memory lane!
You should post an old school photo too!
weekend bliss
This weekend, I hope to ignore the need to pack and spend some time at the pool ;)
... I mean after seeing these pictures, don't you want to go to the pool? Happy Friday!photos via here and here.

bananas foster
Now that it's afternoon and I've already eaten lunch ... I'm dreaming of dessert. But not just any dessert. Last night my sweet friend made the most delicious bananas foster! it was served with pound cake and vanilla ice cream and had walnuts and cinnamon in it. oh man ... it was amazing!
I had never had bananas foster before, but I would certainly eat it again! YUM!
What's your favorite dessert?

Love Letter Murals
Have you heard of the Love Letter project? It is part of the City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program where 40 international and local artists painted 50 walls with love letter murals and the results are wonderful! Here are some of my favorites.
See more, more, more here! First spotted on Green Wedding Shoes in a super cool engagement photo shoot.

cheery chairs
So ... I'm moving! Yay! And I've been thinking a lot about the chairs for my soon to be kitchen table (ok, let's be honest, I've been thinking a lot about how to decorate every inch of the new place). Currently, I am inspired by these images. I like the idea of a different cushion or color of cushion for each seat ...
Well, what do you think?
popsicle party?!
no way ~ a popsicle party? how fantastic! hello summertime!
The invites are my favorite part because they look like popsicles! See many more colorful, fun pictures here on Design*Sponge and here on Once Wed.

it was a *wedding* weekend!
I'm back! and the wedding was just beautiful! Here are a few pics from the weekend if you're interested.
Here we are after the bridesmaids luncheon and our beautiful mani/pedi's
The Rehearsal dinner was next and the cake was sooooo good ~ and it looked just like Mr. Wuf! (Go Pack!)
At the church on Saturday ~ the stained glass was beautiful!
The lovely bride was so excited!
Reception time! Here I am with the matron of honor/sister of the bride. Yay! Time to party :)
The reception was on a rooftop looking over the city - it was really cool! And this picture is so funny! the flowers from the bouquet flew in every direction. See the pretty pins in the bride's hair? She found them on etsy!
