street band

A while back, mom and I went to see Mary Poppins! and when the show ended we saw this awesome band playing on the street in front of the theatre. It was awesome, so I thought I'd share the music with you :)

rain, rain, go away

It is still raining here! and come to find out it's because of Hurricane Nicole! I like this picture that spotted on Creature Comforts (via Flickr) today. It reminded me of rain but in a much happier way.

pumpkins

I know it's not even October quite yet but I've been thinking a lot about pumpkins and pumpkin carving ... and pumpkin pie :)
If only I had a fire place for this fun idea!
Find more Fall and Halloween decor ideas here

Photo Tour: On our way to see the Wolfpack play!

This weekend, John and I followed the Wolfpack to Atlanta, GA to see them play GA Tech in football! It was awesome! Is anybody a GA Tech fan ... were you at the game?
They were having a white out so most of the Tech fans were in white and we were in red! It was pretty great.
I like seeing how other teams start their game ... GA Tech has a gold car that drives around the field.
Go Wolfpack! It was soooo hot - around 95 degrees!
I wore my NC State Homecoming shirt from the year we played GA Tech for homecoming because on the back it said "Send the Jackets Packin' " ... oh yeaaa. (don't you love a good pun?)
Here's the view from our awesome seats on the 20 yard line. Score!
And a view of Atlanta ... although we did not go to Varsity. We had high hopes of eating somewhere else ... somewhere delicious and authentic to Atlanta. That plan did not work out so well and after riding the marta all around and getting off at several different stops, we ended up eating at Chick-Fil-A. Needless to say, if anyone knows anything about Atlanta, I might need some pointers before I go back to that big city. (I had been there once before ... we went to the aquarium!)

How was your weekend??

High Five Escalator

You may remember a post floating around the blogosphere a while back about the Tourist Lane that was created on the NYC sidewalk. (Here's the video if you missed it!) Well the group that put that together is called Improv Everywhere and they are hilarious! Here's a funny video of a hi five movement they organized in the subway in NYC.
Last year they did an ".mp3" experiment that looked like so much fun! They are doing one again this year on Oct 2 and let me tell you, if I lived in NYC I would totally participate! You can check it out here if you are in that area and want to do it! For more entertaining videos like the Star Wars Subway Car and the Best Buy prank (2 of my faves), check out their website.
After watching the videos, I secretly want to be an Improv Agent ;) Don't you?

1 year anniversary of EE!

Today is the first day of fall .... and Everyday Ebullience's 1 year anniversary! YAY! Can you believe it? One year ago today I posted my very first blog entry after much chat and debate about starting a blog. One year ago today, Tori and Lindsay and I gathered for a delicious dinner - it was a new recipe that I had thrown together and it turned out delicious. (see?) And from there, my first post was born!
For an entire year I have been writing this blog and honestly, it's been ebullient (which, if you don't know, means overflowing with enthusiasm or excitement)!
I remember the first time I introduced you to Lenny ...
and shared fun Halloween DIY projects ...
I celebrated a birthday full of surprises (thanks friends!) ...
*this was the first of manymany banners like this = genius Tori.
We played in the snow and made snow cream and it was delicious!
and John and I were in the Indy Magazine!
I told y'all about skiing and hiking and waterfalls ...
I shared our attempt at the very popular multi-colored cake ...
and we even had a party dedicated to eating waffles ... and fried chicken.
Thank you so much for reading and following Everyday Ebullience!
I have been inspired by so many other blogs and posts that I have read and I am so excited about all of the fun parties, holidays, projects, dinners, trips and fun stories I will have to share in the future!

Y'all are the best!
xoxo Nicole

Glee season 2 premieres tonight! I'm so excited :) Lindsay and I have some fun friends coming over to watch ... are you having a premiere party too?
Behind the scenes sneak peek photos from the Britney episode (yay!) and of Jane Lynch's wardrobe (how funny!)

Photo Tour: la di da

Yay for super fun beach weekends! My weekend was full of laughter, singing, big sunglasses, strong waves, sand dollars, birthday cake, a fantastic family style dinner, and a fun game (that we never really played but we talked about it and pretended to play it a lot) called "la di da".
I hope your weekend was fabulous as well :)
xoxo

ah oo ga where was the thunder?

Here's a little Friday story for ya:
So last night I was at the NCSU vs Cincinnati game (Go PACK!) with my lovely friends and since we are indeed the Wolfpack, there are certain songs that are always played during the games ... like the one that says "here come the boys from the south" and the one that says "ah ooo ga! where was the thunder?"
(thunder? what does that have to do with the Wolfpack?)
well ... come to find out those are not exactly the right lyrics. apparently they are "OoOo Werewolves of London". Yeaaa, I'm crazy. I was just singing right along as if I knew every word. Of course werewolves makes a lot more sense than thunder ...
Needless to say we laughed a lot about that misunderstanding.

Happy Friday! Hope your weekend is wonderful :)

Ps - It was military appreciation night and the entire right side of the stadium did this crazy cool card trick in honor ... check it out.

a different bruschetta

So I love bruschetta. It's no secret, I make it all the time (with Trader Joe's balsamic vinaigrette ... it's the best!) The combination of juicy tomatoes with fresh basil is quite delicious. Well recently I was at a dinner party where this appetizer pictured above was served ... sort of a twist on bruschetta. It was mighty tasty and although I bet it was easy to make, isn't it so pretty?

S-u-p-e-r

This weekend, mom and I saw Mary Poppins! It was incredible and magical and we absolutely loved it! And now I have decided that it is my job to learn this song and dance ... at least the spelling part because that's my favorite! Just watch the video and you'll want to learn how to spell it too :) If you ever have the chance to see this musical, you just have to see it! It's so fun!

Now, I'm off to practice. S-u-p-e-r ... c-a-l-i-f ...

Hope your weekend was super!

9.10.2010

ladder ball

Have you ever played Ladder Ball? It's a super fun game. Basically you throw these "bolas" which are golf balls connected with rope, and you hope that they wrap around one of the rungs on a ladder. And each rung is worth a different amount of points.
And now for some action shots ...
At our tailgate, it was ladder ball and cornhole all the way. And John and I were undefeated, winning 3 out of 3 games! We're awesome. I'm not sayin', but I'm sayin'.

Have a fun weekend!

a little bar

Over Labor Day weekend, I went to a little teeny tiny bar (claiming to be the tiniest in NC) called The Last Resort, to listen to a family friend play guitar. He was great, and the bar had some sweet charm to it.  Isn't that sign funny? Their motto was "Don't bring your friends, we don't have room!"
