Our 2010 Halloween Costumes!!

John and I have been dating for 6 Halloweens! And we've had some pretty awesome costumes. I've put together a look back through the years. Reminisce with me :)
the hippie and the bunny - 2005
Luigi and the cat - 2006
Tweety and Minnie Mouse - 2007
(this year John and I weren't together at Halloween because I was working in Disney World. Also, you're welcome John for posting that stellar photo of you in the Tweety outfit!)
Woody and Jesse - 2008
(we even got to meet Woody and Jesse!)
Tim Tebow and Flo - 2009

and in 2010 .... drum roll please!
Peanut Butter and Jelly!! Oh Yeaaaaa
I've been putting together/making our costumes for this year. This is them in the beginning stages. But I will be wearing lots of purple! including purple nail polish. Yay!

ps - photo quality has seriously improved over the last 5 years - wow!

Halloween fingernails

This Halloween, I'm painting my fingernails purple! (I haven't revealed on my blog what I'm going to be yet, but I will soon!) Lindsay was painting hers OPI's Funny Bunny last night - she's going to be a bunny, so why not? and Tori is painting hers black or bright red for her vampire bat costume.
What color will your Halloween nails be?

photo from Bakerella. She meets some pretty cool people on her book tours. I love the candy corn nail!

Astronaut Drink

Last night during our Halloween Glee, crafts and pizza party, we drank Tang with ghost straws. We felt very festive!
Do you like Tang? Every time we drink it, Lindsay says "The astronauts drink Tang, ya know."

Glee and Craft night #3: Halloween frames

Last night was Rocky Horror Glee Show night. While we were watching I painted some wooden frames to hang our Halloween photos in. It's a simple little project, but they are cute! Here's a how to.
Start off with some plain wooden frames from the craft store. I also got some of the pre-painted wooden frame decorations but they have some that you can paint yourself as well.
After they are painted with the perfect Halloween colors, you can spray them with a clear top coat to give them some shine.
Then I just glued the little Halloween characters on them and hung them below some of our other Halloween decorations with pictures of jack-o-lanterns in them.
Cute and simple.

And I haven't forgotten about craft night #2 - I am just missing a key ingredient!
In case you missed it, here's how to make a jewelry display frame from craft night #1.

Halloween Etsy Faves

Being without a camera is super lame. I've been working on some crafty, spooky projects and our apartment is full of spider webs and creepy skeletons. But until I can take some pictures of it all, I thought I'd share some of my favorite Halloween Etsy finds since it is Halloween week on EE and all.
Halloween mustaches (and many other costumes 'on a stick')
And what's a Halloween bash, without a party hat?

ps - It's Rocky Horror Glee tonight! Will you be watching?

The Monster Mash

A few of my friends and I got together this weekend and did the Monster Mash. We danced all night long. It was a graveyard smash. ;)

Ok, maybe that's not exactly what happened, but I think this video is hilarious!
Do you want to do the Monster Mash? Create your own at JibJab.

pumpkin pie ... aka vitamin P

This weekend mom and I made pumpkin pie! Which we also refer to as Vitamin P. It's basically our favorite.
I took lovely pictures of the pie sitting in front of my fun Halloween decor on my table but I have lost my camera. And I am, to say the least, devastated because I don't think I will be getting it back. It is a sad, sad day for EE.
But no worries, this week is Halloween week and I plan to post fun, Halloween inspired things all week long!! Do you have your costume ready?

a little adventure by the waterfall

A little while ago, John and I went on a fun little bike riding adventure to see this pretty waterfall in SC.
You could walk out over the waterfall on this bridge, which was pretty cool.
Lookin' good on the bridge ;)
 There's our shadow!
We saw this egret standing in the water and slowly inched closer and closer to it so we could take its picture.
Here's a shot of the bridge from atop the waterfall.
Then John decided to run through this fountain ...
and he got soaked! but he looks happy :)
While we were there, in the venue across the water was a wedding reception! It was a beautiful venue and a perfect day for a wedding.
They decorated with lots of lanterns! I bet it was awesome when they were all lit up at night.
We even saw the happy couple getting their pictures taken by the water and I, with my paparazzi skills, snapped their photo as they walked away.
It was a fun little bike riding adventure in October. and afterwards we got bubble tea :)
I love random adventures, don't you?

cousins

This weekend I went to the NCSU vs ECU football game at ECU with my cousin Stephanie (she's a pirate ... arrgh!). We were so excited at the tailgate when we saw this guy who had a t-shirt that was half ECU and half NC State and both decided we needed to take our picture with him ~ too cute!

Glee and Craft night #2: Sneak Peek

Last night was Glee and Craft night #2 ... even though a new episode of Glee wasn't on. We watched It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown instead and ate delicious chili :) We didn't completely finish our projects so I'm sharing with you a sneak peek and the full how-to will be posted soon!

Vampire Weekend

Sunday night, Lindsay and I went to the Vampire Weekend concert and it was amazing. I've been singing their songs all week. I think they are one of my favorite bands.
*On a side note, I have a fun little story to tell. We were outside sitting at Raleigh Times for dinner (we went for BBQ nachos and an Avacado BLT but they were out of BBQ! so I had chicken ... still good, but not as good) and these 2 guys (one older, say 40, and one younger, say 20) came up to us and asked to read our palms because supposedly the younger guy was learning how to palm read. mmm hmmm. Anyways, long story short ... we find out later (from another very reliable source) that the older guy was actually teaching the younger guy confidence around women! Like Hitch! Watch out ladies. If someone wants to read your palm or show you some bar tricks, you'll know what's up.
crazzzzyyyy! We've been laughing about it ever since :)

singin' in the shower

I'm loving this shower curtain. Singin' in the Rain is one of my all-time favorite movies and I have a feeling I would sing every morning if I had this curtain in my bathroom.

Photo Tour: NC State Fair opening night

There are so many fun things happening at the NC State Fair, I don't even know where to start!
There was lots of delicious foods, of course.
Lindsay got a frozen banana from Santa Clause!
Ruthy and I drank muscadine cider slushies
And we saw the donut bacon cheeseburger, but nobody tried it! Gross.
That's my halloween scrapbook page with a white 3rd place ribbon! YAY! It was exciting to see our pictures hanging on the wall with a ribbon :)
And little Lenny got an honorable mention ribbon. He's so cute.
The pumpkins were awesome. The biggest one was 864 lbs!!
We ended the night with fireworks! We were so close, the debris was falling to the ground all around us and we had to take cover under the candy apple booth.
Happy Friday!
