finally friday

I've been slacking off on the blog this week. I know you've all been missing me ~ haha. Work is super busy and I've been making official wedding plans (woohoo!). Speaking of wedding stuff, I woke up to the best surprise the other day!

a trio of desserts

So my future sister-in-law Stephanie just had a birthday and I took her out to a surprise dinner at a fun little restaurant in Raleigh called Cafe Cattura. It's a fun restaurant with cool booths and pretty artwork on the walls.

This place has the best chicken salad made with curry (we all know how much I love a good chicken salad sandwich). It's fantastic. We also discovered that they serve a trio of desserts ~ key lime pie, chocolate torte and creme brulee. yum-o!

(yes I said trio ... we think we got an extra chocolate torte because it was Stephanie's birthday!)

Great food and great friends ~ it was a lot of fun!

beachy weekend in march

This weekend a few friends headed to the beach for a sunny and cool Saturday and a rainy Sunday. It was super fun and involved things like spaghetti, a trivia game called Bezzer Wizzer, Catch Phrase, Phase 10, Hitch (best movie ever!), homemade biscuits and Cranberry Orange Fizz (a super delicious beverage consisting of cranberry juice, orange juice and champagne). Here are some of my fave pics from the weekend.

Lindsay's Oscar Birthday Party

It was a blast! 

The party was a huge success and the Oscars were so much fun to watch :) Here are some fun photos from the shin dig.

We played Oscar Bingo which was a ton of fun! We got the clever game cards and the cute candy bag toppers in the picture below from Twig and Thistle. 

of course there was candy ... and popcorn!

yay! thanks for having a birthday Lindsay so we could have such a super fun celebration :)

After seeing this awesome sparkly banner DIY on Creature Comforts, Tori decided to make this one for Lindsay. It went perfect with our black and gold Oscar's color scheme! Great job Tori :)
