2 cute Friday lunch dates

First of all, the Royal Wedding was amazing! (Yep! I woke up at 5:45am to watch it.) Kate looked absolutely stunning, the choir sang so beautifully, the trees in Westminster were awesome and the whole event was simply breathtaking. I love that they kissed twice - how sweet! and the ride to Buckingham Palace was just so sweet and surreal. I can't imagine that many people cheering for us on our wedding day - wow!
~
In other news, I had a fun Friday lunch date with two cuties.

I have the best weekend planned. Every weekend nowadays seems to be jam packed with fun things. I'm pretty lucky, I must say! Tomorrow is the Triangle Beach Music Festival and I can't wait to spend the day in the sun dancing to my favorite beach music! I'll leave you with a couple of my favorites. Happy Friday, have a fun weekend!

towels, plates and teapots, oh my!

John and I started our wedding registry this weekend. Registering is so fun! We hopped around the store picking out our favorite ice cream maker and cake pans. Then we investigated the softness of each towel and chose the most plush and comfy bath mats.
Hey, it's a tough job but somebody's got to do it :)

DIY: Easter tie dye

After we finished dyeing eggs, we used the extra dye to tie dye John's t-shirt! Have you ever dyed anything besides eggs with your egg dye? One year we dyed our socks and underwear :) haha
Ok, back to the shirt...
We twisted the shirt from the middle, rubber banded it to keep it tight and then poured the dye on it. Each side was covered with fun colors. Then we let it soak in over night.
Then we un-twisted it to reveal this awesome pattern! How cool is that!

Easter eggs!

Happy Easter Monday everyone!
I hope your Easter was incredibly happy and filled with many blessings, joyful songs, delicious food and fun family moments.

On Saturday, our family dyed Easter eggs. It was so much fun and such a beautiful day!

My favorite thing this year was tie-dyeing the eggs. I realized that just dripping bits of color onto the egg instead of dipping the egg into the color created a tie-dyed look that was really neat.

group shot! Everyone holding their favorite eggs. What a pretty family I have!

John created a rainbow egg again this year. Remember when we dyed Easter eggs last year?
Did you and your loved ones dye eggs this year?

Coming up later in more Easter related posts... a tie dyed shirt and the bunny cake 2011 :)

Easter weekend

I'm looking forward to Easter weekend, aren't you? A day off from work, time with my family, an Easter choir cantata, a cake shaped like a bunny and eggs disguised as miniature works of art sound wonderful. Do you have festive activities that you always participate in at Easter?  Of course my favorite tradition is the bunny cake. And last year I posted a tutorial that I thought you guys might want to see again.
Happy Easter everyone!

        Jimmy Buffet Concert Tour 2011

Last night we went to the Jimmy Buffet concert!! It has been a dream of mine for some time to go to one of Jimmy's concerts with all of the other parrot heads and people in hula skirts, but the tickets always sell out so fast! So this year, we were on the ball and got our tickets the day they went on sale. And let me tell you ... it was awesome!
tailgating with Paige and Brian - the newlyweds :)
Yay! We were wearing leis and it was so fun! SO many people had on leis, hula skirts, parrot hats and hawaiian shirts.
Group shot!
all of my friends are beautiful ... I'm just saying.
It was a packed house!
During one of Jimmy's last songs, there was a picture of Ole Time Barbeque (where Linds and I ate just recently!) on the screen. Man, if Jimmy ate there he definitely picked a delicious place. How cool would it be to be at a restaurant like that and just see Jimmy Buffet enjoying a plate of bbq and fried okra?
~
So fun! Have you ever seen Jimmy Buffet in concert?
