diy: Wolfpack wreath!

I am so excited about this project!
After making my last wreath (apparently I love making wreaths nowadays), and learning how to make the felt flowers (you can find my tutorial here!) I couldn't wait to make more of the flowers for my next project. That's how I came up with the idea for this wreath. Larger felt flowers, all the way around a white foam wreath form with a hand stenciled sign in the middle.
We are so excited about the upcoming Wolfpack football season, the kickoff game over Labor day weekend, and the fact that my cousin Melissa is now a proud member of the Pack so of course our front door has to show our Wolfpack pride! Go NC State!
I did stencil the sign in the middle and here are some tips for stenciling
~ I used a plastic stencil I got at Hobby Lobby. All of the letters were on one sheet but I found it much easier to cut them all out so you have individual letter stencils.
~ be sure to tape the stencil down first on all sides. If it is a letter with part of the stencil in the middle that you can't tape down, hold it down with your fingers while you paint.
~ I used red acrylic paint for this project.
~ Paint letters one at a time. If you feel like it will need 2 coats of paint to get the color that you would like, make sure you paint all coats before you remove the stencil.
~ I used a hair dryer to make sure my paint was completely dry before removing the stencil and going on to the next letter :)
I couldn't be happier with how our wreath turned out! And if you are a fan of a different team, you could easily make this wreath in other colors. Honestly red and white are Christmas colors too, maybe I could transform this into a Christmas wreath come December ;)
What do you think, do you like it?
