Dragon Con Parade

This weekend was the Dragon Con festival in Atlanta and boy was it a one of a kind experience! First off, this is how packed the Marta was that we took to get to the parade...

and once you get off the Marta at Peachtree, there is the biggest escalator/set of stairs ever going up to the street and this is how packed it was...

that gaping hole on the escalator is because there was too much weight on it at one time so someone was trying to regulate how many people got on the escalator at once so it wouldn't break down. Here's the view once we were on it... that's Drew who somehow ended up on the stairs with his thumb up.

 Once you got to the street, the crowd looked a little like this...

Needless to say, it was absolutely packed and has to be one of the most popular Atlanta events. Wow. Just wow. Once the parade started, we saw some pretty cool costumes and some neat cars. I took a ton of pictures but here are a few of the best ones (and by a few I mean a lot because it's hard to narrow down groups of photos filled with crazy costumes)...

that's our friend Ian!! His costume was seriously one of, if not THE coolest. We met up with him after and took some pictures, I'll share those at the bottom of this post.

This guy was awesome. He was juggling too! and he had to duck when he went under the stoplights on the parade route.

 and Darth Vader! Also do you see that girl in the kilt? There was a whole group of Storm Troupers wearing kilts... not sure why.

Here we are at the parade! It was SO hot. Ps - what is happening in that last photo? With the yellow crown and the blue face... yea I don't know what's going on there. Moving on.

After the parade we met up with Ian to see him in his costume! 

 Cool right? He looks like a real action figure... very impressive!

So that's my wrap up of the Dragon con Parade. Will we go again next year? Maybe not... did you see those crowd shots up there? Keep in mind that comes with a lot of pushing and shoving! But the people watching was top notch for sure.
