Have you ever eaten acorn squash? The squash that looks like this that's sold near the pumpkins...
I've been eating it forever and it's seriously one of my favorite things! Plus eating acorn squash reminds me of home cooked meals as a kid and cooking with my family :) Since it's fall now and all, it's the perfect time to bake a delicious squash. And this weekend, I did just that.
First you have to cut the squash in half and get all the seeds out. Just a heads up, they're kind of hard to cut... as you can tell, I cut mine most of the way and then just broke it in half there at the end.
After all the seeds are out, put some butter, brown sugar and cinnamon in the middle! Then bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes - 1 hour, depending on how big your squash is.
When it's done, it will be soft and the buttery sugar mixture will be melted and bubbling. Then I just get it out of the shell with a spoon, mix it up and eat it out of bowl. Amazing!
