TBMF 2012

The Triangle Beach Music Festival this year was a blast! It was chillier outside than it usually is but that didn't stop people from having a great time. And John wore an awesome hat, as you can see :)
I think one of the best things about the festival this year was the people watching. These are some of our favorite outfits (btw, we don't know any of these people and all of these pictures were taken on my iphone, paparazzi style :)
overalls guy
sleeping hat guy (see John's hat in there! haha)
fake sleeve tattoo guy

 umbrella hat guy
 shark guy
and that guy ;)

Which one is your favorite? I think this describes it all perfectly...

Food Truck Park

Last night, John and I went to the grand opening of the Atlanta Food Truck Park and Market. It was delicious! John ate from the Nana G's Chicken and Waffles truck. He got chicken and fries but said the fries were unbelievable. I of course ate some of his fries and I agree, they were super yum! I ate from the Sweet Auburn BBQ truck (you know I love BBQ) and got mac & cheese as my side. It was excellent. My favorite thing though was probably King of Pops. Those popsicles on a hot afternoon are the best. This time we tried Raspberry Lime. Oh! and there was a food truck selling Puerto Rican food and they have passion fruit juice like John and I drank on our honeymoon in Grenada. It was the best!
Hope you have a happy weekend! We are headed to the Triangle Beach Music Festival! WOO!!

Take me out to the ballgame

John and I headed out to Turner Field again to cheer on the Atlanta Braves! It's so fun to live in a city where everyone in the whole city cheers for the same team. Even when we were at the concerts last weekend, people were doing the tomahawk chop. Awesome!
Chipper Jones!

Atlanta Dogwood Festival + the slide!

This is the beautiful view of the city from Piedmont Park. John and I sat on a stone wall, sipped an ice cold lemonade and enjoyed some delicious kettle corn Saturday afternoon during the Atlanta Dogwood Festival. The fest was full of beautiful art and pretty green city views!
 pretty chalk drawing!
While checking out the park, John and I just had to try out the slides! How fun does this look? You know we're kids at heart :)

fun weekend

This weekend was fun!
John and I went to 2 festivals - The SweetWater 420 Fest and the Atlanta Dogwood Festival. They were both awesome! Here are a couple pictures from my phone but I have more to share from my camera later!

eating at Zocalo near Piedmont Park. Delicious. Also, we won those cool glasses playing cornhole :)

plenty of pins

This weeks favorite pins are all blue. I don't know why but I seemed to have some beautiful blue pins so I thought I'd spice it up and go with a little theme. Enjoy!
such a lovely bedspread
a welcoming and colorful entrance
a new kind of muddy buddies
a clean, powder blue bathroom with a hint of lime green
and not that this applies to me, but I thought this was funny

Have a weekend full of smiles!

a day at Zoo Atlanta

The Zoo was awesome! Seriously, a day spent outside in the sun with John and a bunch of awesome animals - what could be better? The animals were super cool - the giraffes, the elephants and the lemurs were our favorites. These lovebirds were pretty cute too
 hello, Pumba :)
The snap dragons were gorgeous! So bright and in full bloom!
It's fun to explore this big city of ours, especially when it involves giraffes and panda bears. Have you been to the Zoo lately?

a day at the zoo: the video

John and I went to the Zoo! We've been dying to go to the Atlanta Zoo since we got here and it was the perfect day to see all the animals! We had a blast :) I've got a ton of pictures to share but first, here's a little video.
And here's a little behind the scenes of making the video picture :)

frozen treats: homemade chocolate ice cream

This weeks frozen treat from our new frozen treat maker: homemade chocolate ice cream! It must have been the creamiest, most delicious chocolate ice cream that's ever existed. And it didn't take nearly as long to prep as the frozen yogurt which was a big plus! And I topped mine with mini chocolate chips and pecans. Delich!
ps - I was at Sur la Table the other day and they have our ice cream maker in really fun bright colors!

Braves opening night

On Friday night, John and I scored awesome tickets to the opening night at Turner Field to watch the Braves take on the Brewers! How cool is that? It was a blast to be at the packed stadium! It was a full house! And the stadium was huge!
By the looks on our faces, we were obviously super excited to be there cheering on the Bravos. It was perfect weather, only slightly chilly after the sun went down and the fans were going crazy. Here's everyone doing the tomahawk chop...
They handed out those red foam tomahawks on the way in and everyone was chopping with them. Hilarious! And so fun!
At the end of the game they had fireworks and we got to go down to the front and be right behind the dugout to watch them. Pretty sweet! Oh! And the best part? The Braves won! YAY!
~
How was your weekend?
